Reddit published_at timestamps in the Content Comment API no longer include a trailing Z. This brings Reddit in line with the timestamp format used everywhere else in the API.
Most integrations need no changes. If your parser is strict about the Z, here's what to check.
What changed
One field on one platform changed. Everything else returns exactly what it did before.
- Reddit comment timestamps: the
published_atfield on Reddit comments no longer ends withZ. - Same value: the date and time are unchanged; only the suffix is gone.
- Other platforms: no change.
Content Comment API · platform: reddit
// before
"published_at": "2026-09-03T10:15:00Z"
// after
"published_at": "2026-09-03T10:15:00"
What you need to do
A quick check is enough for most teams.
- Check your parser: if it requires a trailing
Z, update it to accept values with or without one. - Nothing else: no other code changes are needed.
Where to find it
- Endpoint: Content Comment API, Reddit comments.
- Who is affected: integrations that read Reddit comment timestamps with a strict parser.
